PHALANX

Terms of Service

Last updated: August 6, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Phalanx desktop application and the phalanxmail.com website ("Phalanx", "we", "us"). By installing or using Phalanx you agree to them.

1. What Phalanx is

Phalanx is a desktop email client that connects to your own Gmail and Microsoft Outlook accounts, with your permission, and runs locally on your computer. Phalanx is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google or Microsoft.

2. Your accounts and responsibilities

3. Local data

Phalanx stores its data (tokens, rules, settings, action history) on your device. You are responsible for the security of your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Optional AI features

AI features require an API key you supply for a third-party provider. Your use of that provider is governed by their terms and pricing, and you are responsible for any charges they bill you.

5. Beta software

Phalanx is currently beta software. Features may change, break, or be removed. Back up anything important. Where a Phalanx action affects your real mailbox, we design actions to be reversible or opt-in — but you use automation features at your own risk.

6. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Phalanx on devices you own or control. You may not resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the app except where the law permits it regardless of this term.

7. Disclaimer of warranty

Phalanx is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that Phalanx will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will not misfile, delay, or fail to send a message.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost business, arising from your use of Phalanx. Our total liability for any claim relating to Phalanx is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim (or $10 if you paid nothing).

9. Termination

You may stop using Phalanx at any time by uninstalling it and revoking its account access. We may suspend or discontinue the software or these terms' license if you breach them.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new date. Continuing to use Phalanx after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
